HKMA Clarifies Fake e-HKD Lending Projects Are Unrelated to Authority and Has Reported to Police

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has received a large number of public enquiries about fake e-HKD projects that deceive the public into signing agreements falsely claiming loans will be converted into e-HKD assets. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority strictly clarifies that the fraudulent agreements and lending projects are entirely unrelated to the Authority, stresses that it will not contact members of the public about personal financial matters or carry out fund transfers, and has reported the matter to Hong Kong police.
