Wharf and Other Hong Kong Developers Shift Mainland Investment from Residential to Commercial Assets

Major Hong Kong property developers are shifting mainland investment from residential projects to commercial assets, including hotel operations, as weak residential sales and fewer attractive investment opportunities prompt them to focus on existing properties, recurring income and debt reduction. Wharf Chairman and Managing Director Stephen Ng said that in recent years, after capital from projects was recovered, not many good opportunities had been found on the mainland.
