Defence Questions Contradictions in Abby Choi's Mother's Property Testimony, Investigating Officer Denies Discussing Case via WeChat

The prosecution called detective Ko Yan-kei to testify. He denied contacting Abby Choi's mother, Zhang Yanhua, via WeChat to discuss the case, saying only that he made enquiries about address details because she mentioned Whampoa Garden property in court, while the defence questioned contradictions in Choi's mother's testimony about the property. The related conversations also revealed that Zhang Yanhua claimed early this year to be pursued by triads over a debt of 1.6 million, while insisting she had no debts, and said she had lost tens of millions at a mahjong parlour.
