Central Tai Kwun photo spot packed with visitors as some tourists say hotel rates are expensive and will leave Hong Kong the same day

Foot traffic in the Central area was heavy during the Golden Week holiday, with the photo spot at the entrance to Tai Kwun, connected by the Mid-Levels escalator, crowded with people, and many tourists making a special trip to take photos. Some short-haul tourists said hotel accommodation in Hong Kong was expensive and chose to make a day trip, while some long-haul tourists hoped to stay for a few days to experience the local atmosphere. Most tourists said they came because they were attracted by tonight's fireworks show.
