Lam Yat-Sing Expects More Elderly to Retire in Greater Bay Area, Proposes Age-Group Medical Spending to Help Buy Insurance

University of Hong Kong professor Lam Yat-Sing expects more elderly people to retire in the Greater Bay Area in future, saying local care homes are spacious and low-cost, and that elderly people can live better for the same price. He noted that cross-border retirement still has "pain points" such as medical protection and expenses, and proposed that the government calculate the average annual medical spending per person by age group for Hong Kong elderly people and buy corresponding medical insurance for them.
