Huanggang Port reopening imminent: will it drive retail consumption at Shenzhen ports

According to sources, the renovated Huanggang Port will open on 12 October, and Shenzhen retail merchants are preparing for cross-boundary passenger flow. The port has undergone six years of reconstruction and will adopt the "joint inspection" model, with clearance time expected to be shortened from about 30 minutes to five minutes. Some merchants worry that the area still lacks commercial appeal, making it difficult for travellers to stay and spend.
