New Town Radio DJ Chan Sum-yee Diagnosed With Stage One Breast Cancer at 50: Realisation to Relax, Slow Down and Love Herself

New Town Radio DJ Chan Sum-yee felt a piece of tissue the size of a soybean in her right breast during a self-examination and was diagnosed in early June with stage one hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, which had not spread. She underwent a total mastectomy and breast reconstruction using her own tissue, followed by 4 rounds of chemotherapy, and urged women to have regular breast checks at the appropriate time. The Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation's "Breast Health Together" walk on 25 October from Lugard Road Garden to The Peak Tower, covering approximately 3.5 kilometres.
