Housing Authority: Abstained on Votes for Pok Hong and Tsui Ping North, Has Proposed Suspending Approval of Contract for Fu Heng

The Housing Authority clarified that it abstained on votes at the owners' meetings for Pok Hong Estate in Sha Tin and Tsui Ping (North) Estate in Kwun Tong, and voted in favour only at the owners' meeting for Fu Heng Estate in Tai Po, but has proposed suspending approval of the contract. Lift contractor Taikoo Elevator (Hong Kong) was replacing 48 lifts at the two estates and was found to have reported the works as completed without installing fire-resistant door frame components. Some Pok Hong Estate residents estimate that its winning of the contract was related to the Housing Authority's vote in support.
