Wang Fuk Court Fire Report: Tang Ping-keung Apologises, Says When Asked About Political Responsibility 'I Am Not Important; Society, Hong Kong and the Country Are More Important'

Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung and Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau attended a government press conference to set out measures against bid-rigging. Tang Ping-keung said that, as a member of the HKSAR Government's accountability team, he apologises to the victims and the public for the Wang Fuk Court fire; when asked about political responsibility, he said, 'I am not important; society, Hong Kong and the country are more important.'
