HKEAA Says Personal Data of About 16,900 International Exam Applicants Leaked
考評局:16900名申請兩項國際考試內地居住人士資料外洩
The HKEAA says it discovered yesterday that the personal data of about 16,900 people living in the mainland who applied for two international exams had leaked, involving names, dates of birth and email addresses, and has reported the matter to the police and notified the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. The HKEAA says the system involved was used only for individual small-scale international exams, and that separate independent systems are used for applications for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination and the vast majority of international exams. There is currently no evidence that the DSE or other exams were affected, and the HKEAA has apologised for the incident.
