He believes inter-departmental co-ordination may also need to change, requiring some departments to take the lead in co-ordinating, redefining responsibilities, and having the ability to mobilise resources from other departments.

The Transport Department announced the transport arrangements as the reconstructed Huanggang Port comes into service and operates 24 hours, with seven franchised bus routes (including one overnight), six minibus routes (including three overnight) and five 24-hour short-haul cross-boundary bus routes at the port. Empty urban and New Territories taxis must first go to the public transport buffer area to collect a token, while passengers of pre-booked fleet taxis can register at the waiting area in the port building. The Transport Department urged the public to use other land and rail control points as needed in the initial period and said there was no need to rush to use the new port to cross the boundary.

盧寵茂稱公營醫療收費改革後 政府維持95%公營醫療資助

醫務衞生局局長盧寵茂表示，公營醫療收費改革後，政府對公營醫療服務維持高達95%資助，費用減免機制覆蓋人數由約90萬增至約200萬。截至上月30日，醫管局共接獲33萬1951宗減免申請，超過30萬宗獲批，全額減免人數由全年少於1.4萬人增至超過25萬人。全年收費上限一萬元機制已有20655名病人獲批申請。

Legislative Council Question 18: Enhancing the facilities and hygiene standards of public toilets

Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan written reply to the Legislative Council: the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department thoroughly cleans public toilets under its purview at least twice daily, and the contract stipulates that contractors must repair minor damaged facilities within 24 hours. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has installed air purification systems in more than 130 public toilets, while another 15 public toilets are equipped with the "Smart Public Toilet System" for real-time monitoring of odours. The authorities said that adding washbasins inside toilet cubicles would reduce the total number of cubicles and increase the risk of slips, and that they would closely monitor design trends.

HKSAR Government 'Cross-boundary Public Services' dataset launched on DATA.GOV.HK

The HKSAR Government has launched the 'Cross-boundary Public Services' (CBPS) dataset on DATA.GOV.HK, aiming to provide convenient cross-boundary services for businesses and the public in Guangdong and Hong Kong, and to promote public services and investment in the Greater Bay Area. The data is provided in CSV format, covering the responsible bureaux, departments and relevant organisations, service categories and descriptions, and relevant links. It is updated once a quarter and falls under the technology and broadcasting category.

In the DATA.GOV.HK climate and weather data collection, position and intensity data for post-analysis of tropical cyclones in the western Pacific and South China Sea are provided, with an update frequency of yearly. The dataset includes a data dictionary, reference materials and historical version downloads; users can specify a date range to retrieve older files, and it belongs to the Climate and Weather Data category.

The Fraser Institute today released the Economic Freedom of the World 2026 Annual Report, in which Hong Kong was again rated the world's freest economy. Among the five major assessment categories, Hong Kong retained first place in international trade freedom and maintained second place globally in regulation. The HKSAR Government said the report affirmed Hong Kong's free market advantages, and that it would enhance the functions of the "four centres and one highland" and accelerate development of the Northern Metropolis.
