新皇崗口岸10月12日上午6時半開通 運輸署公布巴士小巴路線車費

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department has published the LPG quality test results for September 2026. Nine samples were drawn at random from LPG refuelling stations and storage depots, and all of them met the specifications for vehicular LPG. Detailed test results are available on the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department's website, and the public may call the hotline 2333 3762 for enquiries. The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department will also review the third-party independent inspection reports submitted by LPG supply companies each time they import, to ensure the quality of imported LPG meets the requirements.

政府委任醫院管理局成員

政府今日（十月九日）公布再度委任醫管局成員岑浩強教授，並委任管浩鳴法政牧師為新成員，兩人任期均為兩年。岑浩強以香港理工大學醫療及社會科學院院長身分續任，任期由二○二六年十一月一日至二○二八年十月三十一日；管浩鳴任期則由二○二六年十月十二日至二○二八年十月十一日。

Huanggang Port officially opens on 2026 October 12 with 24-hour clearance

The Security Bureau and the Port Office of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government jointly announced that Huanggang Port is due to officially commence operations on 2026 October 12 at 6:30 a.m., providing 24-hour clearance services for travellers and passenger vehicles. The Hong Kong port boundary area and the relevant extension areas have been in use since midnight on 2026 July 31 and are subject to jurisdiction in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; at the same time, clearance services at the temporary passenger inspection building of Shenzhen's Huanggang Port and at Lok Ma Chau Control Station are suspended.

Government appoints Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Metropolitan University

The Chief Executive, in his capacity as Chancellor of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, has appointed Wong Yick-kam as Vice-Chairman of the university, with the term of office taking effect from 1 November 2026 for a period of three years. Secretary for Education Dr Choi Yuen-lin welcomed the appointment and thanked Dr Fong Ching, the outgoing Vice-Chairman who has served the university for over twenty years. According to the Hong Kong Metropolitan University Ordinance, the Vice-Chairman, once authorised, may exercise the powers of the Chancellor, including conferring degrees and other academic titles.

The Hong Kong Institute of Property Management submitted a consultation paper on amending the Buildings Management Ordinance, with over 500 members participating in discussions. It recommended using the "iAM Smart" personal code to verify owners' identities in the long term and studying the introduction of electronic voting. The Institute supports mandatory disclosure of interests, specifying criminal penalties for false declarations, intervention by the authority when a owners' corporation is paralysed, and the establishment of an "Appeals Tribunal (Building Management)", as well as proposing to tackle bid-rigging at the source. The consultation period ended on the 11th of last month.

Architectural Services Department responds: no abnormalities found in observatory annexe building constructed by contractor involved in ONE STANLEY quality issues

The Architectural Services Department told Ming Pao that no construction quality abnormalities had been found to date in the works for the Hong Kong Observatory headquarters annexe building in Tsim Sha Tsui, constructed by contractor Hoi Yuet Construction Engineering Limited. A detached house at the Stanley luxury development ONE STANLEY was found to have construction quality issues in its floor slab, and the Buildings Department had earlier said it would conduct spot checks on other projects currently handled by the building professionals and contractor involved. Ming Pao's review of records found that Hoi Yuet is currently the contractor for the annexe building works.

國際警務學院 選址黃竹坑警校

警察學院開辦警務學士學位課程 員佐級警員獲全額資助報讀

Environment and Ecology Bureau plans new crematorium at Wo Hop Shek, targeting 2032 service launch

The Environment and Ecology Bureau has submitted a paper to the Legislative Council, planning to build a new crematorium at Wo Hop Shek Cemetery, with an estimated cost of over $2 billion and a target of entering service in 2032. The new crematorium, together with adjacent slopes, will occupy a total site area of about 28,000 square metres, and will feature 10 cremators, six ceremonial halls and other facilities. The bureau estimates that demand for cremation services will exceed capacity in 2031, and the new crematorium can provide about 21,000 additional cremation slots each year.
