律政司司長林定國十月十四日在立法會動議二讀《2026年調解（修訂）條例草案》，擬賦予香港調評會法定權力，在當事人未議定調解員人數或委任程序時作出決定或委任。草案維持調解屬非持牌活動，當事人仍可選擇不進行調解。草案擬稿諮詢收到17份意見書，持份者普遍支持。
