DFI Retail Group says it will continue to invest in new supermarkets in Hong Kong even as consumers remain cautious. Darren Chan, the group's director of food for Hong Kong and Macau, said it would look for opportunities to strengthen its network in places with "clear customer demand and attractive long-term returns", with its supermarkets including Wellcome and Market Place.

Centaline City Leading Index rises 0.69% weekly, ending two-week losing streak

The Centaline City Leading Index (CCL), which reflects second-hand home prices in Hong Kong, came in at 161.2 in its latest reading, up 0.69% week on week, ending two consecutive weeks of decline, with a cumulative rise of 11.86% so far this year. The Large Estate Leading Index rose 0.7% week on week, while the Medium and Small Unit and Large Unit indices rose 0.64% and 0.94% respectively. Among the four regions, only New Territories East fell, by 0.78%. Centaline Property said several banks had launched mortgage offers and raised cash rebates, which it expected would support home prices.

AI and chip stocks moved lower, with Zhipu and Tianshu Zhixin falling nearly 5% or more.

Cheung Chung-kiu files claim against Xu Jiayin's asset receivers for 10.1 billion

Cheung Chung-kiu has filed a claim seeking 101 hundred million dollars in full from Xu Jiayin, his asset receivers, namely Evergrande liquidators Eddie Yue and Tiffany Wong, together with interest calculated at a rate the court deems appropriate and costs. The move came after China Evergrande (former stock code 3333) was sued for debt recovery by Evergrande's liquidators last week.
