During the Chung Yeung Festival, the Fire Services Department strengthened patrols and response deployment, targeting 12 locations with relatively higher wildfire risk, all located in the New Territories West and New Territories North areas. The Civil Aid Service joined with the Fire Services Department to form 12 patrol teams to strengthen on-site patrols. The Fire Services Department also deployed a remote aerial detection system, a real-time artificial intelligence image analysis platform and newly introduced large drones equipped with a water bomb dropping system. The drones can carry an 80-litre water-carrying device, providing aerial auxiliary support for remote or steep locations.

政府刊憲修訂條例草案 放寬知識產權開支扣稅安排

政府今日在憲報刊登《2026年稅務（修訂）（知識產權開支的稅項扣除）條例草案》，適度放寬企業購買知識產權或其使用權特許所招致的資本開支扣稅安排，法案本月28日提交立法會首讀和二讀。草案建議容許企業就從集團關連公司等相聯者購入合資格知識產權的資本開支獲得扣稅，並讓預付特許費及符合外地收入豁免徵稅機制情況的開支按比例扣稅，修訂適用於今年4月1日或其後訂立的相關合約。

房屋局：宏福苑93.2%業主限期前簽署《買賣協議》

房屋局表示，大埔宏福苑8座共1850戶業主已於限期前簽署出售單位的《買賣協議》，佔單位總數93.2%，政府會繼續跟進契約轉讓手續。部分業主因遺囑認證、破產、業權爭議或身處境外等特殊情況未能如期簽署，政府會按個別情況酌情考慮作出適切安排。

The Government today gazetted three pieces of subsidiary legislation related to the implementation of the Arrangement on Mutual Service of Civil and Commercial Judicial Documents Between the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, which will take effect on 30 March 2027. The Department of Justice and the Supreme People's Court signed the New Arrangement on 20 April this year to improve the mechanism for mutual service of civil and commercial judicial documents between the two places, replacing the Current Arrangement that has been in force for more than 27 years. The subsidiary legislation will be submitted to the Legislative Council next Wednesday for the negative vetting procedure.

data.gov.hk has uploaded a Light Public Housing (LPH) unit information dataset, listing unit details such as district, region, project name, block, unit number, floor, floor area and whether lift services are provided. The dataset falls under the housing category, is updated whenever there are new entries or records, and is developed and supported by the Digital Policy Office.

Electrical and Mechanical Services Department Uncovers 48 Lifts in Tsui Ping (North) Estate and Pok Hong Estate Missing Fire-Resistant Door Frame Components

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department conducted a surprise inspection of lift works by Hitachi Elevator (Hong Kong) Limited at Tsui Ping (North) Estate in Kwun Tong and Pok Hong Estate in Sha Tin, finding that the company had installed only fire-resistant doors without the related door frame components, yet reported the works as completed, involving 48 lifts. The EMSD ordered rectification to be completed within one month, with costs borne by Hitachi, and launched enforcement under the Lifts and Escalators Ordinance, saying fraud and false statements were not ruled out and that the case would be referred to the Police for follow-up.

財政司司長展開泰國曼谷訪問行程 出席IMF及世行年會

Government Plans to Regulate Price Lists of Private Healthcare Institutions, Private Hospital Measures to Take Effect as Early as August Next Year

The government plans to require licensed private healthcare institutions to provide bilingual Chinese and English price lists, and private hospitals to provide cost estimates for specified treatments and procedures, by way of subsidiary legislation, submitting the regulations to the Legislative Council by the end of the year, with the relevant measures taking effect as early as August next year. Prices must be stated as fixed prices or ranges, revisions must be published at least 7 days in advance, charges exceeding the estimate by 20 per cent or more require a written explanation, and non-compliant private hospitals face a maximum fine of $100,000.
