Chief Executive John Lee met today at Government House with Zou Jiayi, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, to exchange views on further strengthening regional financial co-operation. Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui also attended. Lee said he was pleased that the AIIB will soon set up an office in Hong Kong with both financing and operational functions, and believed it would create more opportunities for the local financial industry. He welcomed the AIIB's continued use of Hong Kong's advantages as a financial hub and its bond market, and looked forward to closer co-operation between the two sides in transition finance, technological innovation and talent training.
