    A voltage dip occurred in parts of Kowloon and the New Territories in the afternoon.     一名內地男旅客因進口未完稅香煙及另類吸寫產品，今日在西九龍裁判法院被判監禁七個月。海關於八月十六日在香港國際機場截查這名三十九歲、經台北從東京飛抵的旅客，檢獲七萬一千六百支未完稅香煙及一萬三千六百支另類吸寫產品，估計市值約三十六萬三千元，應課稅值約二十三萬六千元。海關提醒，進口私煙或另類吸寫產品一經定罪，最高可判罰款二百萬元及監禁七年。

    Ombudsman announces own-initiative investigation into effectiveness of LCSD management of indoor fitness rooms

    Ombudsman Jack Chan Chi-chi announced on 13 October an own-initiative investigation into the effectiveness of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's management of indoor fitness rooms, covering eligibility requirements for entry, the booking system, utilisation rates, monitoring measures and equipment maintenance. The LCSD has 87 fitness rooms under its purview, and members of the public must first complete an orientation session or training course before they can hire the facilities. In 2025, the total number of places for orientation sessions was about 25,000, while registrations throughout the year reached 377,000 person-times. The Office welcomes written submissions from the public by 13 November.

Relatives and friends can also ask domestic helpers about the elderly person's recent blood pressure readings, medication condition and dietary habits, so as to observe the helper's attitude and whether they are not putting their heart into caring for the elderly.
