Fong Po-Kiu Believes Apple Website's Lack of 3-D Secure Led to Credit Card Fraud in New Phone Orders
After the launch of Apple's latest foldable phone model, suspected credit card fraud ordering incidents have occurred again. Francis Fong, Honorary President of the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation, believes it is related to the Apple website not introducing the 3-D Secure one-time verification code mechanism, allowing fraudsters to use leaked credit card information to place orders via programmes. He advises the public to enable instant bank transaction alerts, and upon receiving deduction SMS messages for transactions they did not make, they should report to the police and contact the card-issuing bank.
