    Since the Subdivided Units Ordinance took effect in March this year, all over 150 households living in subdivided flats at Yee Wah Building on Yuen Chau Kok Road, Cheung Sha Wan, have moved out. The Housing Bureau said in reply that nearly 70 households relocated to other accommodation in the private market, over 40 moved to single-person hostels, 25 to transitional housing, another 10 to public rental housing and Light Public Housing, and several to homes for the elderly.

The centre is launching a pilot scheme to explore the "digitisation" of the taste of Chinese herbal medicines, building a taste database for Chinese herbal medicines and developing the identification of Chinese herbal medicines based on taste data.

    一名60歲女子昨日（3日）向警方報案，指約半年前在網上平台認識自稱投資專家的騙徒，對方透過網上投資平台誘騙她在虛擬網站投資加密貨幣，並要求提交保證金以證明帳戶沒被用作洗黑錢。她於4月14日至9月22日先後轉帳約2150萬元至指定投資戶口。

    The government announced that the minimum wage for foreign domestic workers will rise from $5,100 to $5,220 per month, an increase of 2.35%. Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun said the annual adjustment mechanism has long been in place and proven effective, with reference made to data on Hong Kong's economic performance, inflation and employers' income. A foreign domestic workers' union considers the increase "negligible", still a distance from the over $6,172 it advocates.

    The authorities, through the Home Affairs Department, have invited over 1,500 community members to visit the new Huanggang Port, which will soon open for clearance, this afternoon. The experience day is held in two sessions, with participants from Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories.     51-year-old off-duty ambulance services senior member Wong Hoi-keung fell to his death from Suicide Cliff while abseiling at Fei Ngo Shan. He was a member of the Fire Services Disaster Response and Rescue Team (DRRT) and the Mountain Search and Rescue Team (MSRT), and travelled to the Turkey earthquake relief effort in 2023, after which team members were awarded the "Chief Executive's Award for Public Service". A colleague said he was very dedicated to his work and was deeply saddened by his passing.

    The Centre for Health Protection announced a severe case of influenza B in a child. A 9-year-old girl with a long-term illness developed septic shock and severe pneumonia, and is currently hospitalised in the paediatric intensive care unit in critical condition. Preliminary investigations showed that the girl had not travelled abroad during the incubation period and had not yet received this season's seasonal influenza vaccine. Laboratory tests on respiratory samples confirmed a positive result for the influenza B virus.

    Sit Wekit: ankle exoskeleton fills market gap

    Liu Chunhua, chair professor at the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong, came up with the idea in early last year to develop a lightweight exoskeleton that assists the ankle alone, filling a gap in the market. He pointed out that mechanical exoskeletons are bulky and expensive, and the vast majority on the market target the waist, hips and knees, with very few targeting the ankle. Assisting only one joint can significantly lower the price, making commercialisation relatively easier.
