The Education Bureau today (15 October) released the online version of the Kindergarten and Kindergarten cum Child Care Centre Overview for the 2026/27 school year (www.chsc.hk/kindergarten), giving parents more information when choosing schools. The Overview lists the approved fees, principal and teacher numbers, and teacher-student ratios of about 930 kindergartens territory-wide, and includes sections on "Support for Non-Chinese Speaking Students" and "Support for Students with Special Educational Needs". Schools participating in the Kindergarten Education Scheme must disclose the proportion of expenditure in major spending areas and are subject to quality assurance inspection.

LCSD raises red flags at six beaches including South District on Hong Kong Island due to rough seas

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (15 October) that, due to rough seas, red flags have been hoisted at Stanley Main Beach, Shek O Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach on Hong Kong Island's South District, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach and Ngan Kwong Wan Beach in the Islands District, and Clear Water Bay Second Bay Beach in the Sai Kung District, indicating that swimming there is dangerous.
