The Department of Justice welcomed the Ministry of Justice's publication and implementation, from the 5th of this month, of the Administrative Measures for the Practice Examination and Practice Activities of Lawyers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which regulate examination registration requirements, procedures for applying to practise and the scope of practice, and stipulate that the examination will be held once every two years. Secretary for Justice Paul Lam said the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress had passed amendments to the Lawyers Law, regularising the Greater Bay Area lawyers system, and that the pilot scheme, which ran for several years, expired on the 4th of this month.
